Consulate General of India in Medan Awarded Anisa Reddy as The Sole Representative of 79th KIP
My name is Anisa Reddy. I was also a participant in the 79th Know India Programme, which is fully funded by the Ministry of External Affairs of India. This programme is particularly designed for the Indian diaspora in the world, especially for those who have never been to India before, so this is the chance for them to connect again with their roots and grow the feeling of longing for their homeland.
This programme, especially the batch of the 79th, has been designed for journalists, and I am also a journalist, so I was chosen from Indonesia and was the one and only from Indonesia to participate in this programme, chosen from around 27 journalists from 11 countries.
The 79th Know India Programme is the wonderful batch because all of us are journalists. In that programme we visited 4 main cities in India, such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Agra, and Bhubaneswar. And despite the international flight, we also needed a domestic flight between cities, which was from New Delhi to Mumbai and from Mumbai to Bhubaneswar and from Bhubaneswar back again to Mumbai.
So this experience was the wonderful experience of being able to visit India at no cost, fully funded by the government of India. In this batch of the programme, we also visited many of the Government of India's offices, such as the Ministry of External Affairs of India, and met with the Minister of External Affairs of India, Mr. S. Jaishankar. We also visited the Ministry of Communication of India and other institutions, like Ayurveda's Hospital in Delhi.
From all of that, we saw India now has a lot of progress, especially Mumbai, which has now developed more, and I can say to you India now develops day by day. Even though there are negative sides, there are also many positive sides that we see as journalists.
I also encourage all Indian diasporas in Indonesia: "Let's participate in this programme, especially for the young generation; take benefit from this programme; follow the selection process, and go to India".
