Top-tier journalist: leadership in this "stormy" world outlook at the high-stakes global affairs
Today, I am not starting from zero, but from a solid groundwork to establishing a long-term career path.
There were blessings and lessons in those months, I gained lots of high-demanding skills.
#Negotiation
Sometimes it is difficult to interview high-ranking people such as the Governor, General, Consulate General, and more. Oftentimes, they rejected interviews right at the moment while news had to be released in the afternoon.
In the field, I met different individuals, I must be prepared for uncertainty. Thus, my negotiation skill was rooted and growing even more. I had to negotiate no matter how hard it was. It took a lot of patience and endurance.
#PublicRelations
Since college, I have been involved in numerous public relations fields, such as volunteering to several education fairs as well as being a liaison officer to some big events. I joined some student organisations as well.
Working in the media has only strengthened my ability in public relations. I got many opportunities from different people and it only made me even more recognized.
#ObjectiveJournalism & #Storytelling
By working as a journalist I learnt to write clear, brief and concise news. To write news effectively, I begin with a compelling headline and lead and then provide supporting details.
Be an objective writer to present facts without bias or personal opinion. Be an objective news anchor to broadcast news with a neutral tone.
#PublicSpeaking
When I joined television, my communication and public speaking skills were being upgraded to a much higher standard. I enjoyed the work cause I was working and learning at the same time.
#Professionalism
In a professional setting, it signifies a commitment to excellence. Professionalism in broadcasting encompasses a range of qualities and behaviour that ensure credibility and public trust.
Sometimes demonstrating composure under pressure.
I remember when I had to report in front of two police officers. It was the scariest part of my journey. I looked into the camera and spoke confidently. At the end of my report, they said it was a good report.
This path encourages personal development by emphasizing that every opportunity, big or small, is a chance to learn, grow, and improve.
I’m proud of the progress I've made and the "strength" I've found in the face of uncertainty.
